Anybody who had the privilege of knowing Rin loved her and they were just as loved in return. She was a remarkable woman with the spirit of fighter and an unbreakable will who lived life to the fullest—and accepted the challenges in her life head on, refusing to let herself be defined by a diagnosis.
Although Rin could have dwelled on her diagnosis, let it dim her light, or limit her from living the life that she wanted to live, she didn’t. Instead, she was a light in the dark for so many people. Every life she touched was changed for the better, every word she spoke was genuine, and the love she had for all of her friends was true.
Rin left this life on her own terms, when she decided it was time, and she did it fearlessly. She even worked the day before she went on hospice, not that any of us are really surprised by that.
As all of you did, I loved Rin with all of my heart. I know instead of crying the makeup off of my face and moping that she would want something more for all of us that feels like the world is just a little bit darker without her. That’s why I’ve put together this fundraiser.
Rin’s father relayed to me that The Invisible Girl Project was her charity of choice and with his permission, I’m reaching out now to all of you, asking you to help me keep that brilliant light that she was burning strong by raising $5,000 in her name.
I will be sharing the updates of our efforts with her father and although I know her parents were already aware just how amazing their daughter was, I want to show them just how many lives she touched—and how many lives she’ll continue to make better through this gift.
Thank you all.
We love you, Rin, always and forever.
