Mary Pranavi is a 10-year-old girl growing up in a low-income family where being a girl has greatly influenced the opportunities she receives. In her home, her elder brother’s education and needs are given priority, while Mary is expected to take on many household responsibilities.
Her days begin early. Before leaving for school, Mary helps with cooking, cleaning, and other household chores. Her attendance at the government school is irregular, and when she returns home, more chores await her, leaving her with very little time to study, rest, or simply enjoy being a child.
Mary’s parents were considering stopping her education and sending her to work as a farm laborer to help support the family. At just 10 years old, this could have drawn her into child labor and significantly limited her opportunities for education and a better future.
Without support and intervention, Mary was at risk of dropping out of school, remaining trapped in poverty, facing exploitation and early marriage, and growing up believing that her dreams mattered less simply because she was a girl.
By choosing to sponsor Mary, you will provide her with the opportunity to continue her education and build a brighter future. Through IGP’s care, she will receive quality education and consistent support to meet her needs. Your sponsorship will show her that she is loved, valued, and deserving of every opportunity to thrive.
