My Story

Lavanya faces discrimination in her own home. Her parents show preference towards her brother by sending him to school and neglecting Lavanya and her sister. Lavanya desires to receive an education but her parents believe it will not do her any good and would rather her work as a laborer in the fields. They also will begin to look for a husband to marry her illegally by the time she if 15. When our social workers heard about Lavanya and her sister, they intervened and her parents have allowed them to go back to school. Your sponsorship will make this dream a reality for Lavanya. She will also reside in a safe home and be taught she is valued and valuable.
