My Story

Jessica’s life has been filled with troubles from the moment she was born. Her father didn’t want her because she was a girl. He verbally abused Jessica and caused her a lot of emotional anguish. Jessica’s mother loves her very much but suffers from mental illness. She tries to take care of her daughter as best she can, but sometimes ends up neglecting Jessica. Then, Jessica’s mother had a son. Her father loved the boy, but continued to neglect and abuse Jessica. One day, he made the decision to send her into forced bonded labor. Her teachers were informed of this, and they immediately contacted IGP’s team. This team, alongside local leaders and school teachers, spoke with Jessica’s father. They explained to him that girls have just as much right to go to school as boys do. With your help, Jessica will be safe from bonded labor and able to return to school. We will provide a tutor for her, as well as counseling for her and her father. She will be taught that no matter what, she is loved, valuable, and important.
