Ever since Kavitha was born, her parents favored her older brother over Kavitha and her older sister. Kavitha was not allowed to go to school and instead worked on a farm to earn income to support her brother’s education.
Eager to go to school to receive an education, Kavitha wanted to learn and engage with other kids her age. One of the greatest risks Kavitha faced was child marriage. Education would allow Kavitha to grow up and take care of herself, rather than remaining dependent on either her parents or a husband, to whom she would likely be married at quite a young age.
Your sponsorship allows Kavitha to go to school and live in a safe home where she is protected from neglect, child labor, and illegal child marriage. She is safe, has access to nutritious food and education, and most importantly, she is being told truth: she is loved, she is valuable, she is worthy!
