Nagapravallika and her older sister never received proper care and attention from their parents. Because they wanted a son so badly, her parents were disappointed when their second child was also a girl: Nagapravallikal. Unfortunately, the two sisters faced harsh realities of neglect, physical abuse, and mistreatment from their parents solely because they are girls.
Instead of going to school, Nagapravallika was forced to work on farms in order to provide for her family financially. Her parents did not believe there was any benefit to educating a young girl—instead, they believed that child marriage would be the answer to their problem of having a daughter.
Your sponsorship allows Nagapravallika to go to school and live in a safe home where she is protected from neglect, child labor, physical harm, and illegal child marriage. She is safe, has access to nutritious food and education, and most importantly, she is being told truth: she is loved, she is valuable, she is worthy!
