My Story

When Hanvitha was born, her parents were disappointed that they had a daughter rather than a son. After Hanvitha’s younger brother was born, her parent's resentment towards her began to show through emotional and physical abuse towards Hanvitha. 

Rather than allowing Hanvitha to go to school, her parents had her stay home to work on farms to provide additional income for the family. By working instead of going to school, Hanvitha helped her parents provide for her brother’s education, food, and overall well-being but did not receive any of those benefits herself.

Your sponsorship allows Hanvitha to go to school and live in a safe home where she is protected from child marriage, physical abuse, and neglect. She is safe, has access to nutritious food and education, and most importantly, she is being told truth: she is loved, she is valuable, she is worthy.
