My Story

Yaswini’s parents only wanted sons in their family because they falsely believed that boys had more value than girls. After giving birth to Yaswini and her sister, they were deeply disappointed. Yaswini’s parents severely neglected her for being a girl, often scolding her and refusing to give her basic care. 

Yaswini’s brother, on the other hand, attended a good school and was cared for lovingly because he is a boy. Our social workers learned about Yaswini’s situation and were able to confront her parents and intervene on her behalf.

Your sponsorship ensures Yaswini is enrolled in school and receiving an education. It also provides her with ongoing support and counseling from our social workers who are teaching her the value of being a girl!
