My Story

Palak was born into a family that was highly dysfunctional. Many of her family members have died from lack of food and proper nutrition—including her mother and one of her sisters. Palak suffered severe neglect and abuse at the hands of her father who discriminated against her for being a girl. After the recent death of her father, Palak was even more vulnerable to being taken advantage of. A concerned hospital director reached out to our social workers and they, along with government officials, were able to intervene on her behalf.

Your sponsorship allows Palak to go to school and live in a safe home where she is protected from neglect, child labor, and illegal child marriage. She is safe, has access to nutritious food and education, and most importantly, she is being told truth: she is loved, she is valuable, she is worthy.
