My Story

Ananya’s family, with the exception of her mother, severely neglected Ananya for being a girl. She was often deprived of food and basic care. Her mother, although she was also being neglected for giving birth to Ananya, became a daily laborer to earn a small amount of money to care for her daughter. 

Our social workers learned about Ananya’s situation and were able to intervene on her behalf and rescue her. Your sponsorship ensures Ananya is enrolled in school and receiving a good education rather than becoming a child laborer or a child bride! It also provides her with nutritious food and ongoing counseling support from our social workers who are teaching her the value of being a girl!
