My Story

Bhavishya’s father used to laugh at families who had daughters. As the father of a son, he believed that only “unlucky” parents had girl children. Then, he became a father to Bhavishya. This precious baby girl began to endure years of abuse and neglect, becoming malnourished and her wellbeing in decline.

Bhavishya’s parents began making plans to marry their daughter into another family as soon as possible. Most likely before her thirteenth birthday.

But Bhavishya’s grandmother loved her granddaughter, trying for years to intervene in Bhavisha’s life. One day, an IGP social worker came to the family’s community shared about the value of girls. Bhavishya’s grandmother approached social workers and, through tears, sought help for the girl’s dire situation. 

Today, Bhavishya is safe from the risk of child marriage. With your sponsorship, she will continue to receive consistent care and nutrition, with access to quality education. With your help, Bhavishya will grow up hearing that she is valued, precious, and worthy of love and care. You can help provide a bright future for Bhavishya!
