My Story

Tejaswini's parents, illiterate daily wage laborers, subject her to severe neglect and discrimination due to her gender. Her father, an alcoholic, regularly abuses both Tejaswini and her mother, blaming them for his misfortunes. Tejaswini's mother shows little concern for her daughter and often blames her for their hardships. The child is denied education and forced to do household chores, as her parents believe that girls only need basic education and are destined for marriage. Tejaswini's parents view her as a source of bad luck due to her gender, leading to constant mistreatment and neglect. Despite this, Tejaswini desires to go to school like other children and seeks the help of IGP social worker to achieve her dream.
