My Story

Eight-month-old Khasifa is the only child of her parents. Her father, a daily wage laborer, was disappointed she was not a boy and refuses to acknowledge her, subjecting both Khasifa and her mother to neglect and abuse. Despite being helpless, her mother fears opposing him due to his violent behavior and alcoholism.

IGP social worker learned about the situation from a local beneficiary and intervened. Although initially hostile, Khasifa’s father reluctantly agreed to stop the abuse after being warned by an Auxiliary Nurse Midwife (ANM) about potential legal and social consequences. While his attitude remains unchanged, regular counseling and welfare checkups are being arranged to ensure Khasifa’s safety and to help her parents recognize her worth.

Your sponsorship ensures Khasifa is receiving proper food and nutrition for her overall development as well as ongoing counseling support from IGP’s social workers who are providing her with a safe environment to grow. More than that she will learn that she is loved and valued as a girl.
