From the point of her birth, Lissi’s home environment was filled with danger. Born into a family that was hoping for a son, Lissi was neglected early on simply because she was a girl. Her mother wanted to stay home from working in the fields with Lissi, but was powerless to convince Lissi’s father that she should keep the baby out of the hot elements. Lissi’s life was in danger.
When IGP social workers learned about the conditions of Lissi’s home life, they confronted her father about his neglect. When informed that forcing his daughter to go to work with her mother was illegal, Lissi’s father became concerned for himself. He chose to allow Lissi to join IGP’s sponsorship program.
Today, Lissi is receiving nutritious meals and consistent care. Her parents are receiving counseling to help them better understand the value of their precious daughter’s life. With your sponsorship, Lissi will grow up knowing that she is loved and worthy of protecting.
