Thamini’s life was marked by tragedy when her father tragically took his own life due to depression and alcoholism. Her mother worked as a domestic helper, but financial struggles prevented the girl from attending school. Eventually, she was rescued by the child helpline and placed in Home of Love Charitable Trust.
Now in 10th grade, her academic performance is average. She is emotionally sensitive, often feeling numb and detached, and struggles with feelings of abandonment. The home assigns her duties like gardening to foster responsibility and self-confidence. Despite the care she receives, she longs to reunite with her family. The loss of her father has left her with deep emotional scars, causing distress, anxiety, sadness, and impulsive behavior. She also experiences difficulty sleeping and flashes of traumatic memories.
