Ala Modalaindi (a Telugu romantic-comedy film).
Rudra’s father was raised to only value sons. His parents taught him that boys bring value to a family and girls are burdens. When Rudra’s parents had their first child, they were overjoyed that they had been blessed with a son. Rudra’s father and his parents celebrated him greatly with new gifts and toys.
Two years later, Rudra’s mother gave birth to her. Her father and his parents were deeply disappointed Rudra had been born and they began to severely neglect her for being a girl. Most of the time Rudra was only fed whatever food was leftover from her brother.
While Rudra’s brother was enrolled in a nice, safe school, she was enrolled in a low-income school. After Rudra’s father unexpectedly died in an accident, his parents became the main decision-makers for his family. They had strict plans to pull Rudra out of school and marry her off as a child bride so they could be rid of her.
Desperate to help her daughter, Rudra’s mother got in contact with our social workers who were able to intervene on her behalf. Your sponsorship ensures Rudra is enrolled in school and receiving an education rather than becoming a child bride. It also provides her with ongoing support and counseling from our social workers who are teaching her the value and worth of being a girl!
