Jeevithya, lovingly called Vithya, is the second of three sisters. From birth, she lived under the shadow of her elder sister and grew up in a home filled with fear and rejection. Her mother had been forced into a marriage with a maternal relative, only to discover later that her husband had multiple affairs. Before she could recover from the shock, she became pregnant with their first daughter. Her husband, who desperately wanted a boy, was disappointed and emotionally distant.
When Vithya was born as their second girl child, her father refused to even touch her. The family ignored her at the hospital, and her mother received no respect or support. Soon after, due to family pressure, her mother was forced into a third pregnancy that again resulted in a girl child. The father’s dissatisfaction turned into verbal and physical abuse toward all three children and their mother.
One day, he abandoned the family completely taking all their savings and starting a new life with his extramarital partner. The family was left helpless, without financial support or emotional stability. Relatives blamed little Vithya for her parents’ separation, telling her she was the reason for the family’s suffering. These hurtful words deeply affected her. She became withdrawn, weak, and often fell ill due to the trauma and stress placed on her young mind.
If Vithya had not been rescued in time, she would have continued facing abuse, emotional distress, and the loss of a peaceful childhood.
