Smiling at her mother and sister when they play with her.
Ananeeya’s mother, Ratikili, was pregnant when her mother-in-law had a fortune teller predict the baby’s gender. The fortune teller assured them that the baby was a boy—leaving them in relief and joy.
When we learned about Ratikili’s pregnancy, we were able to be there to encourage her when she delivered the baby. Her husband mistreated her for inviting our staff into their home, and threatened her if she gave birth to a girl.
When Ananeeya was born, her father left them in anger. Our social workers encouraged him to go visit his wife and meet his newborn daughter. They need help to fight poverty, feed their children, and provide education for Ananeeya and her older sister.
Your support will provide needed medical attention, milk and food for Ananeeya, educational support for their older daughter, and help provide them with income. More importantly, you’re helping instill Ananeeya’s inherent value in her from an early age.
