My Story

During a field survey, social workers found a little girl wandering alone on an empty street—without any adult supervision. Realizing the danger, they located her home, where the exhausted mother explained that she had not noticed the child leaving the house.

She shared that she and her daughter face daily beatings and verbal abuse from the father, who refuses to accept the child simply because she is a girl. She feels helpless, ashamed, and worried for her daughter’s safety.

When the father arrived home, he initially refused to speak with the social workers. But after being informed that a complaint could be filed for neglect and abuse, he admitted his behaviour and promised to change. He was warned that regular follow-ups would be conducted and that any further mistreatment would lead to immediate police action.

The family will require continued monitoring and support to ensure the child’s safety and wellbeing.
