My Story

Navya was born to a poverty-stricken family. Her father always desired to have a son who could grow up and take care of the family. Because of this, he was greatly disappointed that his wife gave birth to a girl.

Since her birth, Navya’s father neglected her and her mother. Because of his neglect, Navya was not fed sufficiently and was suffering from a lack of growth and development, along with various illnesses.

Desperately, her grandmother reached out to our social workers to save Navya and her mother because, she said, they were dying slowly from hunger and weakness.

Thankfully our social workers were able to speak with authorities who warned Navya’s father about the legal ramifications that would take place if he did not agree to treat her and her mother better. Your sponsorship ensures Navya is safe and receives the nutrition she needs to survive. Most importantly, she is growing to know she is loved and valuable as a girl!
