Sagar Triveni was always forced to compete with her younger brother for her parents’ love. She was neglected from birth—her mother refused to nurse and care for her because of her gender. Sagar Triveni was constantly compared to her brother and verbally abused by her parents. Her father thinks she is a burden, and physically and emotionally abused her. Her parents pulled her out of school so they could pay for her brother to attend. Sagar Triveni was forced to work to bring in extra income for the family, and she was at-risk of being married off within the next few years. She wants to prove to her parents that she can be just as successful and important as her brother.
Our social workers have done much counseling with Sagar Triveni’s family in order to teach them that Sagar Triveni and her brother are equal in value. After rescue, she was placed in a good school and a safe home where she can thrive. Your sponsorship helps cover Sagar Triveni’s tuition fees, provide her with a school uniform, and continue to give her consistent and nutritious meals. Your support ensures that Sagar Triveni not only continues to grow in a healthy and safe environment, but also assures her that she is capable, valued, and loved.
