My Story

Durga has not attended school. She lives in extreme poverty with her parents and sister. Her parents rummage through the garbage searching for anything they can sell to make money to provide for their family. As a result of their poverty, Durga's parents cannot afford to send her to school. Sadly, because the village they live in has a high rate of alcoholism and incest it is a dangerous place for young girls. Durga is neglected and lives in extremely unhygienic conditions. Your sponsorship will allow Durga to attend school and live in a safe house where she will receive proper nutrition, a bed to sleep on, and medical attention if needed. She will be taught that she is valued and valuable.
