My Story

Manvitha’s life has been filled with sadness and hopelessness from a young age. Her father hated the fact that she was a girl child from the moment of her birth, while her mother treasured and defended the baby girl. After a boy heir was born to the family, Manvithas’s parents neglected and emotionally abused her until finally forcing her into illegal child labor.

This began to affect her performance in school, and the family sometimes left her days without food. Finally, the parents decided they had no use for her and found a marriage match for her. They will marry her off when she turns 15. Thankfully, her grandmother approached our social workers concerning the illegal marriage plans and forced labor. We have spoken with the family and devised plans to better her circumstances.
